Zhejiang University Shanghai Alumni Association Delegation Visits Innovation Center of Yangtze River Delta

On February 27th,A delegation from the Zhejiang University (ZJU) Shanghai Alumni Association visited the Yangtze River Delta Smart Oasis Innovation Center for a research and exchange session. The delegation included Yang Xuming, President of the ZJU Shanghai Alumni Association and Chairman of Shanghai Zhongyi Technology Investment Group; Li Zhitian, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the association and CEO of Shanghai Fuxin Medical Technology; Shao Si, Vice President and Chair of the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Alliance, and Chairman of Shanghai Fuluo Venture Capital; Lin Kuangfei, Vice President and Chair of the Environmental and Resources Branch, and Professor at East China University of Science and Technology’s School of Resources and Environmental Engineering; Zhao Wanwan, Standing Council Member, Executive Vice President, and Secretary-General of the Environmental and Resources Branch, and Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Wanwei Digital Technology; He Bin, Council Member, Dean of Shanghai University’s Robotics Modern Industry Institute, and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics; and Ji Liming, Deputy Secretary-General and Partner of Ketong Technology (Shanghai).

The delegation was received by Lin Weilian, Party Committee Secretary of the Smart Oasis Innovation Center; Deputy Directors Zhu Liang, Chen Wei, and Deng Guozhong; Administrative Director Yu Chunming; Shen Chaofeng, Deputy Director of the Future Environment Laboratory; Li Wenjing, Shanghai Representative of the New Quality Productivity Promotion Department; and Pan Liyun, Director of the Investment Promotion Service Center of the Jiashan Demonstration Zone Management Committee.

In his remarks, Secretary Lin Weilian highlighted the center’s commitment to product-oriented research, translating lab achievements into real-world applications, and fostering a synergistic cycle of “research driving production” and “production sustaining research.” He emphasized the center’s role in leveraging collaborative industrial promotion mechanisms, integrating resources from national industrial liaison offices, alumni networks, and future laboratories, and strengthening ties with alumni enterprises and the broader ZJU community. To date, the center has attracted hundreds of high-level talents, incubated multiple tech-based companies, and advanced cross-regional collaborations in digital economy and life sciences.

At the symposium, Director Pan Liyun welcomed the delegation and provided updates on the Smart Oasis and Jiashan Demonstration Zone’s scientific advancements, industry-academia linkages, and enterprise partnerships. She underscored Jiashan’s strategic role in the Yangtze River Delta integration initiative, its geographic advantages, and relevant investment policies.

President Yang Xuming praised the rapid development of the Smart Oasis Innovation Center, noting that the Shanghai Alumni Association brings together thousands of ZJU alumni active in technology, finance, healthcare, and other sectors. He highlighted the association’s efforts in advancing ZJU’s scientific achievements and regional industrial upgrades through the “alumni economy” model. Executive Vice President Li Zhitian elaborated on the association’s initiatives, expressing confidence in the natural alignment between the Smart Oasis and alumni enterprises for joint R&D, talent sharing, and mutually beneficial collaborations.

Both parties reached consensus on talent development, industrial synergy, and resource sharing, laying the groundwork for future cooperation.

This symposium not only reinforced alumni bonds but also marked a new chapter in university-enterprise collaboration. As a high-level innovation platform under university-local government cooperation, the Smart Oasis will continue to embrace openness, capitalize on its location in the core demonstration zone of Yangtze River Delta integration, and deepen ties with Shanghai. By fostering trilateral collaboration among ZJU, local governments, and alumni networks, the center aims to build an ecosystem of “innovation-industry-talent” synergy. Together with alumni enterprises, it will drive the development of a science and technology innovation hub, injecting robust momentum into the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
