A team from the Future Health Laboratory is focusing on the forward development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and establishing a world-class platform for technology innovation in TCM. It has built the first TCM ingredients unmanned screening platform with independent intellectual property rights. The team builds the Chinese largest TCM database, which includes over 1000 kinds of prescriptions, over 60000 TCM components, and more than 1000 monomer compounds and digital reference material. This is also the world’s largest TCM components database with high-throughput component screening capability. It can be utilized for determining the efficacy, pharmacological activity and toxicity of TCM synergy in various cytopathy models.

The Health Laboratory has been approved as State Key Laboratory for modern creation of TCM. The team is aimed at exploring critical technologies on efficacy components of TCM, establishing knowledge library of new medicine development, designing optimal modern TCM, and evaluating druggability for the new ones of modern TCM to promote the development of innovation of TCM. In the future, the team will still devote to promoting the integration of TCM theories and modern technology, studying personal health products which can lead the development of future TCM and further encouraging “production-learning-research cooperation” to accelerate the transition from original thinking advantages to industry advantages. This team also works for making larger contribution to the development of discipline of life and health and industry upgrade in the Yangtze River Delta even the world.
