Yu Tang received a doctorate in Natural Products Chemistry in 2017 at Fudan University. He then joined the UIC/NIH Center for Botanical Dietary Supplements Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2017, developing innovative analytical methodologies that can help address challenges posed by nature's metabolomic complexity, and in 2022 joined Zhejiang University. Dr. Tang has been leading National Key Research and Development Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Fund), Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Fund public welfare projects, and Zhejiang University's introduction of talent research funds Since returning to China. His research involves: 1) untargeted metabolomic analysis of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) through quantitative NMR techniques; 2) development of digital reference materials (DRM) and the application of DRM in TCM research; 3) isolation and structural elucidation of bioactive single metabolites from TCMs. His publication portfolio comprises 20+ peer-reviewed articles, and he is an inventor on 2 granted patents.
